Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority was created by the Louisiana State Legislature under the provisions of LA revised statutes 373 to provide for the administration, management and operations of behavioral health and developmental disabilities services to the citizens of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jeff-Davis parishes.
It is the intent of the legislature to create statewide integrated human services delivery systems, with local accountability and management, to provide behavioral health and developmental disabilities services. Imcal is governed by a eight member board of directors, of which there is one seat from each parish represented as well as three governor appointees.
Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority (ImCal HSA) exists so that citizens with mental health, addictions, and developmental challenges residing in the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis are empowered, and self-determination is valued such that individuals live a satisfying, hopeful, and contributing life.
