About
It All Started Here In 1909 That year, Dr. J.E. Harris built Arlington General Hospital. It was the first building erected for use as a hospital in Snohomish County, and served the residents of Arlington and surrounding communities. Through two world wars and many changes in the surrounding communities, Arlington General, and many dedicated nurses and physicians, continued to serve all those in need of health care. In 1958 a New Hospital Was Built By the 1960's, that new hospital was struggling financially. In 1964 the community voted to tax themselves and form Public Hospital District #3. The district purchased Arlington General Hospital and renamed it Cascade Valley Hospital (CVH). Since the 1960's, the hospital has been remodeled twice and many services have been added. A new hospital was built on the CVH campus in 1987; increasing the number of available beds and providing space for the ever-increasing services offered. CVH Joins CVH&C In 1996, Public Hospital District #3, with interested physicians, formed North Snohomish County Health System (NSCHS). Today this health system, known as Cascade Valley Hospital & Clinics (CVH&C), includes the hospital and a variety of primary care and specialty clinics, located in Arlington, Smokey Point, Granite Falls, and Darrington. In 2010, CVH completed a major expansion and renovation project, resulting in a stunning new building with state-of-the-art equipment throughout. Partners For Life Even though the name, the buildings, and the faces of the doctors and nurses have changed, the commitment to bring quality, progressive, friendly health care to Arlington and the surrounding communities has remained the same. All organizations must plan for the future by asking the questions: Who are we? What are we? Why do we exist? How can we best serve our patients? The answers to these questions are what defines the purpose of the organization - its Mission. The organization's Vision is the long-term goals to achieve the mission. Values, such as quality, customer service, and accountability, are the guiding stars by which everyday decisions are made in achieving these goals. Our Mission: To provide excellent, friendly health care close to home. Our Vision: To be the health care system of choice for our community.
