Communities In Schools of the Charleston Area, Inc. is celebrating 27 years of stay-in-school/dropout prevention services to children and their families in South Carolina's Charleston and Berkeley Counties. During the 2014-15 school year, CIS provided Student Support Services to more than 13,000 children attending 29 schools. Out of those children, 1,340 received case-managed services and the results were amazing! 96% were promoted to the next grade 98% of seniors graduated (78% went to college, 13% joined the military) 89% improved behavior 74% maintained adequate or improved attendance During the 2015-2016 school year, CIS of Charleston will be in the following schools: Angel Oak Elementary, Burke High, Burns Elementary, Chicora Elementary, Clark Academy, Cross Elementary, Edith L.
