Sonora Regional Medical Center is the name of Sonora Community Hospital’s new facility at 1000 Greenley Road in Sonora. The new medical center opened in January of 2004. “The name change is consistent with the growth of our hospital, the great diversity of specialty medicine and the level of care provided by our staff,\" said Hospital President, Lary A. Davis. “The new name represents the natural evolution of the hospital\'s progression. While we will continue to expand, it is our commitment to keep the \'community\' foremost in our care and services.\" The new 72-bed medical center has redefined rural health care in the central Sierra by delivering advanced community medicine, similar to what is usually found only in larger urban areas. Sonora Regional Medical Center has expanded cardiac, cancer, diagnostic imaging and surgical services, boasting some of the most sophisticated technology available in the region. The new Emergency Department has 14 exam rooms and is designed to handle more than 30,000 visits per year. A helipad is located on the medical center grounds to provide efficient transport of trauma patients to and from the hospital.Adventist Health Address
