Prince George's Child Resource Center (PGCRC) helps create healthy and nurturing environments for children by supporting their families and educating their caregivers. PGCRC began as a collaborative effort 28 years ago, established as a child care resource and referral center and became an independent nonprofit in July 1992. We opened our Family Support Center in 1994, added an in-home intervention program for mothers at risk of adverse birth outcomes and their children (Healthy Families Prince George's) in 1998, began offering an early childhood mental health consultation (Project WIN) in 2007, and launched a child care advocacy program (Joining Voices) in 2011. In all, since our founding in 1990, we have touched the lives of nearly half a million children through our family literacy and support services, child development education, and links to community services.
