About
What is YPI? Founded in 1981, YPI was originally a week long summer program for writers. Over the years, we’ve evolved into a one- or two-week long co-educational residential summer camp for artists, singers, actors, filmmakers, poets, photographers, and dancers. For the last 2 years, YPI has been housed at the beautiful Suffield Academy in Suffield, Connecticut. Campers have told us that even just one week at YPI has changed their life. Through their total immersion in the program of their choice, plus the lifelong friends they make in their classes and throughout the camp, YPI has expanded into a strong community of learning and growth. We hope to see you this year at camp, it is sure to be an unforgettable experience for students of all ages and from all walks of life! YPI is open to students ages 10-17 years old who have an interest or ability in the creative arts. No prior experience is necessary! We accept campers of all interests and skill levels. As long as you have the desire to learn, our professional master teachers can help you explore your passion.
