Fireproof Records Center has been serving central Ohio's medical, legal, and other business communities since it was founded in 1909. Fireproof Records Center is central Ohio's oldest and largest independently owned commercial records center. Having been primarily a moving and storage business, Fireproof entered the document-storage business in the late 1950's. The records storage business was formalized in the late 1970's with computerized tracking systems, dedicated personnel and expanding complimentary services like indexing records, data protection and disaster recovery and document destruction. Today, in addition to maintaining 500,000 square feet of document warehousing at 4 central Ohio locations, the company also stores close to a terabyte (1 trillion bytes) of electronic information.
