Lutheran Social Ministries of Maryland (LSMMD) is a faith-based, not-for-profit organization currently comprised of two continuing care retirement communities and a spectrum of services to older adults in Maryland. Backed by the forty-year legacy and reputation of Carroll Lutheran Village, we serve in the Lutheran tradition of social ministry and service. Carroll Lutheran Village was founded by the grassroots effort of 21 local Lutheran churches to build a faith-based community to care for older adults. This legacy is the foundation for all that we do. Carroll Lutheran Village expanded its social ministry into Howard County in 2016 with the opening of The Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant. Both senior living communities serve older adults in the Lutheran tradition regardless of spiritual background - people of all faiths are welcome.
