WVT Communications (Warwick Valley Telephone Company), incorporated on January 16, 1902, provides telephone service to customers in the contiguous towns of Warwick, Goshen and Wallkill, NY, and the townships of West Milford and Vernon, NJ as the Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC). The Company also provides voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), Internet and video services. It operates in two segments: telephone and online. On April 24, 2009, Warwick Valley Mobile Telephone Company (WVMT), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, acquired certain assets from US Datanet Corporation (Syracuse NY). The assets acquired included its VoIP line of business, which provides communication services for commercial customers conferencing and wholesale lines of business. In August 2011, the Company acquired Alteva (Philadelphia PA). The telephone segment provides telecommunications services, including local network services, network access services, long distance services, directory services and other services and sales. The online segment provides broadband and dial-up Internet access services, VoIP services (inc. Hosted VoIP services), and satellite video services in partnership with DIRECTV, Inc., a global provider of digital television service (DIRECTV). Broadband Internet and dial-up Internet access services are provided using its network and by resellling other suppliers access services in Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) service areas throughout the Eastern USA.
