Richmond's Technology Council, rvatech, is a member-driven association of businesses and organizations working together to ensure the continued growth of central Virginia's dynamic technology-based economy. Based in Richmond, Virginia, the council serves to promote the region as a technology center and provides a vehicle for addressing the needs of Central Virginia's dynamic technology community. rvatech supports the growth of existing technology industries and identifies Greater Richmond as the location of choice for new and emerging technology companies. The organization was founded in 1989 as the Central Virginia High Technology Network. In 1995 it adopted the name The Greater Richmond Technology Council. In the spring of 2009 the organization expanded its mission to reach out to the regions expanding creative and technical community and adopted the name of RichTech. In 2016 the brand evolved to rvatech.
