Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Foundation was founded in December 1976 by a group of visionary community volunteers. The purpose then, as it is today, was to help the not-for-profit hospital meet the growing need for technology, human resources, and community education. Over the years, the Foundation has raised almost $23 million and has funded over $12 million in projects. In the past five years, it has provided almost $750,000 in nursing scholarships in an effort to recruit staff for the hospital. It has contributed $400,000 for employee education. Over 117 funds and 24 endowments have been established.
