About
In a world of rapidly changing technology and constant innovation, it is critical that education keep pace and prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow. The best way to expose students to the possibilities of their future careers is ensuring that mentors in today’s highest growth fields share their experiences and insights. Students need access to financial education and basic business skills in order to navigate our global economy. For many students in the Dallas area, these essential skills are out of reach—not taught in school or by parents at home. Junior Achievement of Dallas has been serving as a conduit to financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship education for 65 years, bringing business and community volunteers in to schools to teach business skills relevant to changing times. Beginning the journey to the next 65 years of impact, our vision is to provide business role models, basic business skills, and financial literacy to the most at-risk students. During 2018-19, our goal is to ensure 48,000 students gain essential skills to help them navigate the 21st century world of work by working directly with engaged volunteers. As we grow, more students who critically need our programs will have the opportunity to work with JA corporate and community volunteers. With your help, we can achieve these gains across the community, starting with our most at-risk student populations. We need YOUR help to serve as a volunteer in the classroom. Join us and help change a child’s future.
