Opengate, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) private, not-for-profit residential and day program facility serving adults with developmental disabilities, including those who may also be behaviorally challenged. The agency was originally founded in 1969 to support the individual with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in order to develop and express his or her unique potential.
Designated an Emerging COMPASS Agency by the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities, Opengate is one of only six agencies out of thousands to achieve that accomplishment in the state.
Opengate welcomes individuals to its residential and day programs who present with a variety of abilities and support needs. Today, Opengate serves those who range in age from 21 to their sixties. All programs are based on their ability to participate and everyone joins in on something whether it’s computer time or hiking the trails of parkland across Westchester County. With its strong commitment to person-centered planning, community inclusion and quality outcomes for all individuals.
