For 40 years, Janus of Santa Cruz has provided caring, compassionate substance abuse treatment to people dependent on alcohol and other drugs. We provide a supportive, hope-inspiring and successful treatment environment to assist individuals and families on their journey toward wellness and recovery. Janus of Santa Cruz was founded in 1976 by physician Dr. Robert G. OBrient, who introduced a highly effective approach for treating alcoholism in a social model setting. That first modest facility has grown into one of the most respected substance abuse centers in central California, serving 2,500 clients annually. We offer help, hope and results to individuals and families in need of substance abuse rehabilitation, drug detoxification and opiate addiction treatment. Janus provides a variety of alcohol and drug rehab options designed for individual needs, from Intensive Outpatient Services and Medically Supervised Detox to Residential Treatment and ongoing medical treatment for opiate addiction. Our Perinatal Program offers both residential and day programs for drug and alcohol dependent pregnant women and new mothers. Our Sober Living Environments provide safe, short-term and long-term accommodations.
