About
Copyright Agency is an established Australian rights management organisation delivering benefits to both creators and consumers of content. One of our main roles is to provide a link between creators, owners and users of copyright material. Copyright licences provide permission to organisations to access vital information while also assisting them to fulfil their legal copyright requirements. Our licences are convenient, flexible, easy to use and are designed to be both cost effective and administratively friendly. We understand the demands of businesses and have licences to suit any type of organisation. Copyright Agency manages the statutory licences which enable government and educators to copy, share and scan content for education and government use in return for fair payment to the rightsholders. Copyright Agency is a not-for-profit organisation that represents visual artists, authors, journalists, photographers and newspaper, magazine and book publishers as their non-exclusive agent to license the copying of their works to the general community. Membership is free. The organisation also administers the resale royalty scheme on behalf of government and provides administration and management services to Viscopy, the rights management organisation for artists in Australia and New Zealand.
