Jewett City Savings Bank opened for business on June 23, 1873. The Bank's present main office opened in 1930 and was remodeled in 1973 on the Bank's 100th anniversary. In 1995 a major renovation of the main office was completed which included creating upstairs office space. Our first branch office was opened on April 29, 1972 in the Central Village section of Plainfield. On June 30, 1986 our Central Village Office relocated to the Bank owned Savings Bank Mall, located at 32 Norwich Road (Route 12). The second branch was established July 30, 1974 in Brooklyn at 412 Providence Road (Route 6). The accounting department and the loan department relocated to the Operations Center located at 2 North Main Street, Jewett City on December 10, 1990. In March of 1996, Jewett City Savings Bank added it's fourth branch by acquiring the Brooklyn Plaza office from Fleet Bank. On September 16, 1996, the Bank acquired The Jewett City Trust Company, 28 Main Street, Jewett City, adding its fifth branch.
