The historic Tampa Theatre is a passionately protected landmark and one of America’s best-preserved movie palaces. The majestic building is owned by the City of Tampa and operated as a dynamic film and cultural center by the not-for-profit Tampa Theatre Foundation. Recently named one of "the world's 10 most beautiful cinemas" by the BBC, Tampa Theatre is one of the nation's most utilized historic theaters, hosting more than 600 show times each year, including first-run contemporary film, classic movies, live concerts, tours, field trips and rental events.
