The GO Project is a non-profit organization that shapes the futures of 725 New York City public school children by providing critical academic, social and emotional support starting in the early elementary years. GO provides year-round educational and family support services to children who are performing below grade level and equips them with the confidence and skills needed to succeed at school, at home and in life.
The GO Project addresses the needs of our students through three reinforcing strands of service – GO Summer, GO School, and GO Families. GO Summer is a rigorous five-week full day academic and enrichment program led by a staff of certified teachers. All students continue on with GO School, a focused, seven-month Saturday program from October-April, with students participating in a half-day of academic skill-building. GO Families is a year-round social service program designed to empower parents of participants to create positive learning environments at home and school through proactively addressing various student learning and behavioral challenges. GO Families is integrated into all GO programs and supports parents in becoming constructive advocates for their child. In addition, for students facing the most significant academic challenges and for those that have been identified as “promotion in doubt,†we offer GO Fun, an extended tutoring program on Saturday between February and April.
