Trucking has been a way of life for our family since 1945 when my father purchased his first truck. Agricultural commodities were the backbone of the business typifying most carriers located in California's Central Valley. Through hard work and perseverance, the business expanded to a fleet of over 50 trucks by the early 1970s serving California's agricultural transportation needs. Growing up in the family business, I was able to experience firsthand all aspects of the trucking industry. Early on, I was taught the importance of customer satisfaction and a job well done. I also learned how to instill pride in employees whose jobs involve fulfilling customer needs. In 1966, I started my own business, Cherokee Freight Lines. Although Cherokee's early roots were in transporting winery-related products, it has grown over the years to become a diversified carrier of food grade commodities serving some of the largest companies in the nation. Cherokee Freight Lines has built a solid reputation for superior service at competitive rates and an enviable record of on-time deliveries. We take great pride in adapting our transportation service to the demands of our customers. With stability in management and flexibility to meet the formidable challenges of the industry, Cherokee has maintained successful long-term relationships with customers that can be measured over decades as well as years.
