In 1973, the Olgoonik Corporation was established by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act and exists within the North Slope Borough. In 1999, the village corporation of Wainwright formed a new holding company, Olgoonik Development, LLC, and four wholly-owned subsidiaries: Kuk Construction, LLC, Olgoonik Logistics, LLC, Olgoonik Management Services, LLC, and O.E.S., Inc.
