About
The Center for Hope and Healing Inc. (CHH) was founded in 1976 by a group of physicians, social workers and students who came together out of concern for the numbers of rapes in Lowell and who then committed themselves to eradicating sexual violence in Lowell and the surrounding communities. In 1985, CHH (formerly Rape Crisis Services of Greater Lowell) was incorporated as an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization. In 2012, we changed our name to The Center for Hope and Healing, Inc. to reflect our positive vision and relationships with the broader Merrimack Valley area. Our Mission. Supporting Survivors, Engaging Individuals and Building Community to Eliminate sexual violence The Center for Hope and Healing, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to end sexual violence in Lowell and the greater Merrimack Valley communities of Acton, Billerica, Boxborough, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Groton, Littleton, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, Westford, and Wilmington. We support individual survivors by creating a safe environment, utilizing trauma-informed, empowering approaches and offering hope and support to engage in the healing process. We advocate for individuals and significant others affected by sexual violence to start their own process. We engage individuals through raising awareness and educating the community at large to prevent sexual violence.
