In 1939, Charles E. Groskopf & Son began a small trucking company in Sonoma, hauling a variety of loads including: gravel, rock, hay, cattle and wild horses. Charles Jr. continued the business, and in 1946 brought in Stewart Weider as a partner. They changed the name to Groskopf Weider Trucking Company, and began hauling lumber and other forest products, and later petroleum for Chevron and Union Oil. For the past 32 years Groskopf has served the wine industry in trucking, warehousing and logistics.
