About
The Covenant School provides formal education in the traditional academic disciplines of English and language arts, history and geography, mathematics, science, foreign languages, and fine arts and offers a broad and varied program of physical education and sports. A rigorous college preparatory curriculum taught within a Christian world-view creates an environment that is both supportive and challenging, seeking to inspire students to love God and to love learning. From the phonics foundation laid in pre-kindergarten to the Honors and Advanced Placement courses in high school, Covenant students are encouraged to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. We believe that faculty and staff must seek to live and model Biblical truths, good character, and love for others as they work with the family. The mere acquisition of knowledge does not convey wisdom, and therefore we see studying the Bible as essential for learning how to live. We encourage students to seek truth, to develop character, and to serve others. The students who attend The Covenant School come from many counties surrounding Charlottesville and Albemarle county. The Board of Directors is committed to keeping the tuition as low as possible in order for a Covenant education to remain affordable, allowing students from socio-economically diverse backgrounds to continue to enroll. The Covenant School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, nationality, religion, or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, financial aid awards, athletic and other school-related programs.
