AILA is a national association of immigration lawyers established to promote justice, advocate for fair and reasonable immigration law and policy, advance the quality of immigration and nationality law and practice, and enhance the professional development of its members. Founded in 1946, AILA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that provides its Members with continuing legal education, information, professional services, and expertise through its 35 chapters and over 50 national committees. AILA is an Affiliated Organization of the American Bar Association (ABA) and is represented in the ABA House of Delegates. AILA SCV was established in 1998 and encompasses the counties of Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito, in California. AILA SCV's attorney members provide representation to and for:1. Families and U.S. citizen spouses who wish to apply for permanent residence for their spouses and relatives;2. Businesses and academia who sponsor highly skilled foreign national workers (H-1B, H-2B, L, TN, etc.);3. Asylum and relief from removal (deportation);4.
