Co-founder's message from Laura Simpson and Dan Mangan: We met with a shared vision to serve artists; a common interest in supporting and empowering musicians to have meaningful careers. Our perspectives were complementary, Dan as a musician and touring artist and Laura as a presenter and supporter of music and the arts. We saw first-hand the challenges and hurdles of touring, reaching audiences and making a living performing. We seized the opportunity to provide a large market of underserved musicians with places to play, build audiences and foster a sense of community through shared experiences. We both believe that the connections made through experiencing live music and performance of all kinds allows for empathy and reflection in a way that colours our daily interactions for the better. There was a need and a market that could deliver financial returns. We developed a lean model where everyone wins. Audiences enjoy an intimate experience close to home, hosts add value to their community by presenting the arts in their spaces and artists build audiences and earn more money with greater impact in each market. Our culture of transparency, accessibility and equal opportunity within our company and our platform is the kind of environment we seek to uphold and to help create a fertile ground for great live shows to happen.
