McElroy Manufacturing Inc. (MMI) not only designs, manufactures and markets the industry's most complete line of fusion equipment, it also sets the worldwide standard for fintube machines. Furthermore, MMI has an extensive history in design and has engineered a wide array of custom machines. In the early 1960's MMI became a forerunner in the market for fintube machinery. Art McElroy refined the design of the machine, as we know it, over a period of about 15 years. At the end of the 1960's, MMI was shipping fintube machinery all over the world including England, South Africa, Italy, Germany, Holland and Asia. MMI holds 24 U.S. and foreign patents on fintube related equipment and it is estimated that as much as 80% of all fintubes have been made by MMI machines. In 1969 MMI designed its first polyethylene fusion machine. Today the comprehensive line of fusion equipment is considered to be the best in the world. Today MMI holds over 19 U.S. and foreign patents on fusion related equipment. In 1983 MMI added the Fluid Power Division to the company. McElroy Fluid Power became a regional distributor of hydraulic components. The initial strategy was to lower cost of their fluid power needs. It soon became a major venture to market hydraulic equipment nationally. McElroy Fluid Power was a leading supplier of mobile hydraulic components. MMI sold McElroy Fluid Power in 2004 to focus their efforts on the growing fusion market. Art McElroy was an outstanding inventor, engineer, designer and businessman who established strongholds in three separate industries before his death in 1988. During the same year Chip McElroy, his son, took over the direction of the company. Since that time MMI has experienced its greatest period of economic growth. Today MMI has placed its stamp on the world as a leader in engineering and manufacturing. MMI has continued throughout its history to place a strong emphasis on product development and improvement to insure its position at the top.
