Dr. Jen-Yi Jong established AI SIGNAL RESEARCH, INC. (ASRI) in April 1990 to market vibration analysis tools. In 1993, ASRI won its first small business competitive contract with NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) to develop vibration analysis capabilities for the Space Shuttle engines. In March 1994 ASRI received its 8(a) certification issued by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). In January 1996 ASRI was awarded its first 8(a) sole source contract from MSFC. In June 1996 a second 8(a) contract was awarded to ASRI supporting MSFC Public Affairs Office.
