The Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB) is dedicated to transformative, interdisciplinary genomic research and educational outreach. The Institute's cadre of world-class scientists working in collaborative laboratories coupled with its state-of-the-art equipment create an environment that inspires discovery and innovation at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The IGB houses about 1,000 faculty, students, postdoctoral fellows, and other personnel.
