About
In Miami-Dade County, there are more than 2500 children involved in foster care proceedings. The Guardian ad Litem Program is essential to fulfilling society's most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and protect a child's right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family. The Guardian ad Litem Program recruits, trains and empowers potential volunteers within the community to advocate for the best interests of children in foster care. Our volunteers visit the children a minimum of once every 30 days, write reports and work with their supervisor and attorney team and get to advocate for the child's best interests in court.
