DBC is a fourth generation family business with roots extending back to the early 1900s. Beginning as a small subsidiary of Bloedel-Donovan Lumber, the company has since grown regionally with annual revenues between $40-$50 million. DBC consistently employs 175 people, and as many as 350 people as projects demand. Located in Bellingham, Wa., the 32,000 sq. ft. DBC compound houses 7,000 sq. ft. of office space, a 12,000 sq. ft. pipe fabrication facility, and a 15,000 sq. ft. facility for structural and HVAC fabrication. Although our construction operation began with small residential jobs, we soon moved into commercial construction, followed by industrial projects of ever increasing complexity. At Providence Hospital in Everett, for instance, our plans were coordinated in such a way that existing surgeries proceeded without interruption while we remodeled the surgery, emergency, and intensive care departments. The mechanical systems on this project included new air handling equipment, ducting, mechanical rooms, chillers, and all aspects of medical gas systems.
