Power of Two gives New York City children who have experienced early adversity a foundation for success in school and life by fostering a strong and healthy attachment between parents and children.
Power of Two does this through the dissemination of a powerful parent training program called Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up (ABC). ABC supports parents in providing nurturing and responsive caregiving, which in turn protects children from the negative effects of profound stress, builds their resilience, and lays the foundation for academic success, physical health, and social and emotional well-being.
Our goal is to scale ABC in all of New York City’s most underserved communities with the ultimate aim of disrupting the intergenerational cycle of poverty that affects too many families, and of providing a model dissemination strategy for other cities, counties and states.
