DataMade is a civic technology company in Chicago. We build custom data visualizations, deploy civic apps, and train people to work with open data. Our projects focus on creating and releasing open data, writing open source software, and empowering citizens with technology.
Since its founding in June 2012, DataMade has grown to 5 employees and have successfully launched over a dozen civic technology applications including data merging tools for journalists (http://geomancer.io/), powerful geospatial open data platforms for researchers (http://plenar.io/) and citizen access websites to help scale up meaningful municipal policy (http://largelots.org/).
Our clients include many notable universities, non-profits, media organizations and municipalities, including the University of Chicago, The Associated Press, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), The Chicago Community Trust, The City of Gary and Macoupin County, IL.
