About
We all navigate the world in different ways. Euan's Guide is the disabled access charity making it easier for disabled people to find great places to go. EuansGuide.com is our disabled access review website. It allows disabled people, their family, friends and carers to find and share honest reviews on the accessibility of venues around the UK and beyond. The website is an invaluable tool for everything from planning a day out, to picking a last-minute place for coffee or lunch. With good accessibility information being so hard to find, one review is often enough to encourage others to visit. Reviews can also be a powerful opportunity for education and change which is why we share new reviews with venue owners. The charity was founded in 2013 by Euan MacDonald MBE, a powerchair user and his sister Kiki after Euan was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and a lack of disabled access made everyday experiences stressful. After visiting the same few places time and time again, Kiki and Euan wanted to create a website where they could find out about other accessible places that other people had visited as well as having a place to share their own experiences. EuansGuide.com was built as an easy alternative to the hours of web searching and phone calls that people with access requirement often have to make before visiting somewhere new. We support disabled people through campaigns and initiatives designed to remove barriers or increase confidence. This includes our Red Lifeline campaign using Red Cord Cards to inform everyone of the importance of leaving red emergency cords in the correct position. To date our community has helped us distribute and attach over 60,000 Red Cord Cards to red emergency cords across the UK. Euan's Guide is a charity registered in Scotland SC045492.
