The Heart Research Institute (HRI) is an internationally recognised medical research institute that performs cutting-edge cardiovascular research at state-of-the-art facilities in Newtown, Sydney, Australia and the Charles Perkins Centre at The University of Sydney.
Our scientists are focused on understanding the causes and complications of cardiovascular disease and are at the forefront of conducting innovative research to prevent, detect and treat the world's number one killer cardiovascular disease. Each of the various scientific groups at HRI conducts research into a specific aspect of cardiovascular disease, and our groups currently participate in over 150 international collaborations.
