Founded in 2010, Sherwood Forest is a 23 acre permanent village set in the beautiful Lost Pines region of Texas. It features well over 100 permanent buildings including shoppes, pubs, restaurants and stages.
Visit Sherwood Forest Faire over eight weekends in February and March for a medieval-themed show with over 100 musical, comedic and dramatic performances per day, including a full-contact heavy armor joust, falconry show, feasts, and wine tastings - all in period costume and character. On these weekends the forest abounds with Robin Hood's merry men, pirates, nobles and of course the fae folk.
One weekend in September the village sets aside the medieval era and dons its kilt and sporran, for the Sherwood Celtic Music Festival & Highland Games. This non-period event features well-known bands in the Celtic genre playing everything from traditional music to modern Celtic rock. Watch burly athletes as they complete in a traditional Highland Games, or learn about one of the many Celtic clans who are present to share their histories. This event also features a rousing bagpipe competition, beautiful harp circles and also music workshops.
Whichever event you attend, you are sure to find fun for the whole family! There are plenty of rides and games for the kids, and moms and dads can find a refreshing beverage at one of our six pubs.
Sherwood Forest Faire is located on highway 290, 35 miles east of Austin TX.
