About
Girl Scouts of Alaska is the proven leadership development program for girls in grades K-12. Girl Scouts provides a safe, inclusive environment for Alaska’s diverse population of girls, regardless of income or socioeconomic background. Through a myriad of enriching experiences – such as troop membership, camps and outdoor education, workshops and events, and financial literacy skills gained through the Girl Scout Cookie Program – girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls: • Develop their full individual potential; • Relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; • Develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and • Contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others . Building on the traditional values of the Girl Scout movement, we meet the needs of girls in Alaska today. Girl Scout Mission: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
