About
The Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) is a research institute that specialises in impact-driven research to support prosperous, innovative and sustainable agriculture and food sectors. TIA began in 1996 as a joint venture between the University of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government. The institute is a centre of excellence in agricultural research, development, extension, education and training - and plays an integral role in guiding the future economic and environmental sustainability of agriculture and food sectors. We have a dynamic team of 130+ scientists and technical experts, many of whom are internationally renowned, and access to world-class equipment and facilities located in one of the most remarkable and pristine environments in the world, enabling our researchers to explore key questions about sustainable resource management.
