About
L’Observatoire International is a lighting design and consulting firm, created in 1993 by Herve Descottes, comprised of skilled lighting designers, architects, interior designers, engineers, and artists. Emphasizing a collaborative effort, the firm provides lighting design to such disparate spatial expressions as museums, performing arts centers, concert halls, airports, universities, towers, landscapes, hotels, private residences, commercial properties, retail stores, and art direction for international luxury brands. To account for such a range of programmatic and geographically specific requirements, we have developed a rigorously contextual and individualized approach to lighting design. We are engaged in every stage of the design process, providing graceful, realistic, and environmentally-conscious lighting solutions for each of our clients. L’Observatoire has collaborated with architects and designers of world renown including Steven Holl, Frank Gehry, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Jean Nouvel, Richard Meier, and Peter Marino. Our scope of work is internationally acclaimed including the High Line in New York City, Cité du Surf et de l’Ocean in Biarritz, France, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, One Island East in Hong Kong, and Anderson 18 in Singapore.
