Life Span empowers survivors of domestic and sexual violence to demand safety as a human right through client-centered services and leads social change through accountability, community engagement, and systemic advocacy.
Life Span is a national leader in the provision of services to victims of violence serving 4,000 clients annually. Our comprehensive services include legal advocacy and representation, counseling for survivors, children and teens, and advocacy.
Our work encompasses such issues as human trafficking, police domestic violence, immigration, employment issues, sexual assault protective orders, mental health, teen dating violence, and survivors as defendants.
Our agency has sites in Chicago and Des Plaines, and within Cook County courthouses. Our multilingual staff provides services in 11 different languages.
Life Span also provides national leadership in policy work, legislation, and trains lawyers and other professionals in Illinois and across the country.
