Lexington School District Two is steps away from downtown Columbia, South Carolina's capital city and home to the University of South Carolina. In addition to having three rivers in our backyard -- with walking trails and water-related activities -- there are numerous attractions for every interest, from sporting events to art and history museums, concert venues, weekend farmers'? markets, and a world-class zoo and botanical gardens.
Lexington Two is home to 15 schools, all of which are being renovated and, in some cases, expanded as part of a package of improvements passed by voters. That package also includes three new schools -- an elementary school and an Innovation Center for career and college readiness programs, both opening in fall 2018, and another elementary school that opened in fall 2017. Many schools in the district are within walking distance to the area's neighborhoods -- symbolic of the close bond between the school district and its residents.
Providing a quality education for our 8,800-plus students, along with a flexible and supportive work environment for our educators, make Lexington Two an ideal place to live and work.
