About
The Wooden Block. Reinvented. Tegu is a vertically-integrated toy company with offices in Darien, Connecticut and Tegucigalpa, Honduras. In 2006, Tegu co-founder Chris Haughey returned from Honduras with a vision to create a for-profit business that would have a transforming effect on the lives of Hondurans. Four years later, not only has Tegu electrified the toy market with the introduction of its magnetic wooden blocks, but, in doing so, Chris and his brother Will have delivered on their commitment to make a lasting difference in Honduras and to its economy. Curiously Attractive. Click-Clack. It's the iconic sound of two Tegu blocks coming together. Tegu has reinvented the wooden block in a way that brings new life to a favored classic. Brilliantly Simple. Tegu's magnetic wooden blocks inspire open-ended play at its best. With the intriguing combination of wood and magnets there are no limits to what you can create. Made with beautiful Honduran hardwoods and safe water-based finishes, these blocks have proven wildly addictive for kids (and kids at heart) and will encourage the simple joy of creating for generations. Naturally Safe. Tegu blocks exceed all safety requirements mandated by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA); all our magnets are safely embedded inside responsibly sourced hardwoods and all our coatings are water-based and non-toxic.
