About
A. B. Carlock founded Scott Valley Bank in 1858 with the establishment of The Carlock Banking Company. The bank operated as a gold transfer agent in the booming Scott Valley of far Northern California during the California Gold Rush. The name change to Scott Valley Bank in 1911 reflected the true impact of the bank as an integral part of the region’s growth and development. In 1982, Scott Valley Bank became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Walnut Creek headquartered Learner Financial Corporation. Soon thereafter, the bank’s service was extended into other Northern California Counties, the Bay Area, and Southern Oregon. Scott Valley Bank enjoys its status as California’s oldest independent bank. We believe that a contributing factor to that longevity has been the continued practice of providing highly personalized banking services for consumers and businesses.
