The Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Club is a National Hockey League (NHL) franchise and the only major-league sports team in the Triangle area of North Carolina. The Hurricanes play their home games at PNC Arena in Raleigh, with the NHL regular season running from October to April. Since arriving in North Carolina in 1997, the team has won three Southeast Division titles (1999, 2002, 2006), two Eastern Conference championships (2002, 2006), and claimed hockey's top prize, the Stanley Cup, in 2006.
