The Village of Gurnee provides services considered comparable and in line with the vast majority of other municipalities in the United States, including centralized administrative services, planning & zoning, building inspections, code enforcement, engineering, police services, 911 communications dispatch, fire prevention, fire rescue, emergency medical services, infrastructure and fleet maintenance and finally, water and wastewater conveyance and utility billing.
Village services are divided among five major areas, including Administration, Community Development, Police, Fire and Public Works. Within each department are specialized divisions, which further delineate responsibility centers.
The Village has 209 full-time employees and approximately 20 seasonal/part-time employees.
