The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) is a state agency that promotes equality, empowerment and independence of individuals with disabilities. Our goals are achieved through enhancing and encouraging personal choice and the right to succeed or fail in the pursuit of independence and employment in the community.
The MRC provides comprehensive services to people with disabilities that maximize their quality of life and economic self-sufficiency in the community.
About Us:
We assist individuals with disabilities to live and work independently. We are responsible for vocational rehabilitation services, community living programs, and eligibility determination for the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) federal benefits programs for Massachusetts citizens with disabilities.
We serve residents with all types of disabilities except those who are blind. Individuals with visual disabilities are served through the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB).
Multiple programs from our Community Living (CL), Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), and Disability Determination Services (DDS) divisions complement each other to assist individuals with disabilities to reach their goals.
