Frantz® Manufacturing , headquartered in Sterling, Illinois, is a manufacturer of conveyor bearings and steel balls. Frantz conveyor bearings and wheels are used primarily in unit handling conveyor systems. Frantz steel ball products are used throughout the world in a wide variety of ways ranging from automotive, drawer slides, bearings, agitation, just to name a few.
The Frantz Manufacturing Company was started in 1909 by Peter Frantz, producing a line of building hardware. In 1928, Frantz entered the garage door industry and in 1939, began manufacturing conveyor wheels as part of its garage door operation.
To supply the needs of Frantz, the Sterling® Steel Ball Plant was created in 1947, and is now part of the Frantz Manufacturing Company. The Bearing Division originated in 1971 with the building of a new 84,000 square foot facility devoted exclusively to bearing production.
Since 1909 Frantz Manufacturing has been a leading supplier of components to many different industries.
