Georgetown Preparatory School, situated on 90 acres in North Bethesda, Md., is an independent, Jesuit college-preparatory school for young men in grades nine through 12. The school was founded in 1789 by Archbishop John Carroll, S.J., the first Catholic Bishop of the United States. Georgetown Prep is America's oldest boarding and day school for young men, and the only Jesuit boarding school in the country. Approximately 100 of the school's 447 students are residents. Prep aims to keep its students, families, alumni and friends informed about happenings on and off campus using various methods, including this Web site, the school's alumni magazine Alumnews, daily announcements for parents and mailings, as well as more personal means of communication. We want to keep in touch with our Prep families, so please let us know if you have ideas to keep you better informed. For media requests, please contact Director of Communications Brian Gnatt by e-mail or telephone at 301-214-1205.
