Lifewater International is a Christian non-profit clean water and community health organization that is committed to helping children and families living in extreme poverty thrive. Since 1977, Lifewater has served more than 2.5 million people across 45 countries with clean water, improved sanitation, and hygiene training (WASH). The organization has received the highest possible rating from independent charity evaluators, including four stars from Charity Navigator. Lifewater’s proven approach to solving the water crisis is called the “Vision of a Healthy Village.” It is the culmination of 40 years of WASH experience and exhaustive research, and includes unique contributions of local churches, governments, leaders, and families to build a healthier and more productive future for remote communities. As of 2018, more than 150,000 people are currently participating in the Vision of a Healthy Village. Lifewater has active programs in Ethiopia, Uganda, and Cambodia, with plans to begin a new program in Tanzania in 2020.
