About
Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) supports the best and brightest scientists conducting groundbreaking cancer research in Israel. Our goal is to end the suffering caused by cancer. The Answer to Cancer Is Research. ABOUT US: Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) is the largest nonprofit in North America dedicated solely to supporting groundbreaking cancer research in Israel. ICRF was established in 1975 by a group of dedicated and visionary scientists, physicians and philanthropists in the U.S. and Canada. Their goal: to enable the most promising Israeli scientists to continue their important work in Israel where funds to support basic cancer research remain scarce, leaving too many promising investigations in need of funding. To date, ICRF has invested over $78 million in the most impactful Israeli cancer research, awarding more than 2,500 grants to scientists at all of the leading academic and research institutions throughout the country. ICRF grantees are selected through a rigorous annual peer review process conducted by a world-class Scientific Review Panel (SRP). To insure the most value for every donor dollar, ICRF awards go directly to the researcher without any university or research institute overhead reduction. ICRF-funded research has led to transformative discoveries for treating multiple myeloma, chronic myelogenous leukemia and other life-threatening tumors. More recently, Israeli scientists have made major contributions to immunotherapy research and targeted therapies. Today, ICRF has active chapters across the U.S., Canada and Israel. The International Executive Office is located in New York, NY.
