Micrima was founded in 2006 to develop and commercialise microwave radar breast imaging technology initially pioneered at the University of Bristol in the UK. The company's MARIA system received European regulatory approval in 2015, has been trialed in the UK and Europe. The latest step in the journey to Breast Screening will be launched in 2021.
